Geelong Reuse Reduce Recycle is open to all who want to

"Reuse Reduce Recycle"

From that special something rather than throw it away.

Whether it's a chair, a Coffee machine, piano or an old sink,

feel free to post it.

Or maybe you're looking to acquire something yourself!

Nonprofit groups are also welcome to participate too!

Only post offers of items you want to give freely to others

and keep out of landfills.

A friendly place, with few restrictions.

The main thing to remember is.........

Everything Must be FREE.!!

There are limited rules, and we'd ask members to abide by the ones which are in place.

Friendship and Community are the aims of the site.

ONGOING CONCERNS

Garbage disposal is no simple matter. Remember, the threat of contaminating our water and air doesn't just go away

when the landfill reaches its capacity.

The garbage continues to decompose, and must be monitored long after the landfill reaches maximum capacity.

(Federal, state and local regulations require a 30 year post-closure monitoring period upon landfill closure.)

In the meantime, in another location, the process begins again, as new land must be made available to take in our garbage. Landfills do not go away,

but remain a permanent fixture of our landscape.

YOU CAN HELP!

Options for bin liners: Don't line your bin at all. Put your rubbish straight into your household bin and transfer this to your larger Council or

Otto bin. Give the bin a quick rinse afterwards and reuse the water on your garden. It's important to recycle as many of your old

newspapers as possible. However, keep a few sheets aside each week to wrap your rubbish or line your bin. This helps minimise mess

and is a good alternative to plastic liners.

We hope you have a lot of fun with
